SAN FRANCISCO MISSION
Mission Statement:
Our mission is to provide a forum for the presentation and discussion of educational, artistic, cultural and economic activity in our world. Our focus is the Bay Area, but our horizons span the globe. Our firm belief is in the saving quality of harmony and the redemptive power of love. Our human family can survive the challenges that will assail us, but we will need all of our collective power to prevail. We lend our voice to those that would bring peace and understanding.
The beauty of America starts in the hearts of its citizens. Although our land is beautiful and our works are a monument to beauty and art, it is the spirit, heart and conscience of our people that have made us the nation that we are today. Time and again we have proved that we will not only lead in the effort to discover the meaning of freedom, but we have led in the effort to defend those freedoms and rights that we believe to be the birthright of all. We are what make America beautiful. We are why I am proud to be an American. Let us join together to defend our constitutional way of life. Let us join together to defend the rule of law and the restraints it places on government. But most important of all, let's join together to defend our freedom of speech and restrained and responsible way of life.
After the tragedy of September 11, 2001,
The United States has found a new direction and a new will
to survive. From the ashes of the pyre that was the
World Trade Center has emerged a powerful new
national unity dedicated to the preservation of the fundamental
ideals of our nation. We have questioned
ourselves and reached inside to that which we hold most
dear. Ultimately, love will triumph over hate.
Justice will prevail over anarchy and compassion over fear.
If we doubt this we are lost.
"Great things are not done by impulse,
but by a series of small things brought together."
--Vincent Van Gogh
